Pattern, Color & Classic Comfort

Room Makeover & Furnishing Design

Before living room with hardwood flooring, a ceiling fan with light, large windows with blinds, a sliding glass door leading outside, a fireplace with wooden mantel, and some furniture and objects near the walls. Houston.

This living room design began with a blue-and-white botanical fabric that became the inspiration for the entire space. The custom drapery established the foundation for the room’s color palette, adding pattern, softness, and movement to the windows.

Red was introduced as an accent color to bring warmth and energy to the blue-and-white scheme, carried through the furnishings, accent chairs, pillows, and area rug. The result is a comfortable, layered room where the window treatments, furniture, and accessories work together to create a cohesive and inviting design.

This project illustrates how one element—such as a favorite fabric—can inspire an entire room makeover and guide the selection of furnishings, color, pattern, and texture.
